I have been one neglectful blogger this summer. To begin to get caught up - I'll let you know that we were in Nova Scotia last month - to stay at the family cottage, and also to run the Not Since Moses 10km run.
You know I don't say this lightly - but this run, with just 250 of us, out there on the bottom of the ocean floor at low tide, running through mud and sand, over rocks, through creeks and streams, was the most amazing running experience I've had since the New York Marathon.

The fact that the run was accompanied by a road trip with good friends including an adorable baby (I want one!) and a mesmerizingly cute small dog, certainly added to the enjoyment.
But the best part? The Not Since Moses run was organized by Dick Lemon, a retired lawyer from California, who has bought one of the Five Islands, and just 2 weeks before the run, Dick opened a new cafe/hostel/art gallery, in "downtown" Five Islands. The place is called "Mo's Cafe".
Most of us runners wore the race shirt during the run, and the name on the back of the shirt? "Mo's".
What a great tribute this felt like, on our first trip down east without our beloved Mo. There we were, running through the very same mudflats and creeks that Mo himself spent many holidays getting filthy in, in the Bay of Fundy - the water Mo made his first and very courageous attempt at swimming.
Running on the ocean floor - surrounded by MO. Absolutely perfect.
